Studio  Rules

 

Attire:

  • Black sneakers and black knee pads are required for hiphop classes – Please contact Ms. Maraj to discuss.

  • Dance Studio Uniform - Jus Hip Hop T-Shirt, basketball shorts, legging, sweatpants or running pants are required.

  • No shorts or jeans; long dance pants are required for hiphop and stepping classes.

  • No jeans, short shorts, crop tops, sandals, flip flops, slides, or crocks are permitted. 

  • Females must wear a sports bra underneath their tops.  Tank tops are fine as long as a sports bra is worn underneath.

  • Pole Fitness Attire – Shorts and tank top with sports bra.

  • Ballet – Black leotard with pink tights and pink ballet shoes.  Hair must be pulled back in a bun.

  • No jewelry

 

 

Recital:

  • Rehearsals are free, however if you child misses 3 rehearsals, then you agree to pay $15 per rehearsal.

  • Rehearsals begin in late January, early February.  All annual performances are scheduled the first Sunday after school ends in relation to the Dade & Broward school calendar

  • Rehearsals for the hip hop dance classes are as follows.

 

 

Classes:

  • All classes are considered a crew by the date and time of their class.

  • Monday 6:15pm crew:

    • Rehearse Fridays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

  • Monday 7:15pm crew:

    • Rehearse Fridays from 8:30pm to 10:30pm

  • Tuesday 6:15pm crew:

    • Rehearse Sundays 4pm to 6pm

  • Saturday 10:00am crew:

    • Rehearse Saturdays 9am to 11am

  • Saturday 2:00pm crew :

    • Rehearse Saturdays 6pm to 8pm

  • Saturday 3:00pm crew :

    • Rehearse Saturdays 8pm to 10pm

 

Actors:

  • Wednesday 6:15pm : Rehearsal for recital are:

    • Wednesday - 6:15pm to 8:15pm

    • Saturday -  9:00am to Noon 

    • Sundays - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

 

 

Uniforms:

  • The Jus Hip Hop Dance Studio T-shirts must be must worn to class. Policy is posted in the school and in the contract.  Leggings, basketball shorts, basketball pants, and sweat pants are permitted.  Jeans and shorts above the knee are not permitted.  Sneakers must be worn for all hip hop, breakdance, and popping classes.  Hair must be pulled back, secured or in a ponytail.

 

  • Pink ballet slippers, pink tights and black leotard must be worn for ballet and hair must be in a bun.

 

You may need a towel:

 

***  Absolutely no cell phones are permitted in class.  No phone charging as well.  This will result in sitting out during that class.

 

***  Students are not permitted to take class if they are more than 15 minutes late, this will result in sitting out during that class.

 

There are no makeup classes:

 

***  Proper attire is required to attend class, if not, this will result in sitting out during that class.  There are no makeup classes.

       - A t-shirt must be purchased if your child is not wearing the uniform shirt or this will result in sitting out the class.

 

***  Parents are required to bring students inside the facility and pick up them up from inside the facility as well.  Do not drop               them off in the parking lot.

 

 

Tardiness:

 

  • All students must arrive on time.  The curtain will close after the first ten minutes of class after which the student will not be allowed to participate if they are tardy more than once.  Students who arrive 10 minutes late to class must report to the front desk and receive a tardy. Issuance of a second tardy will result as an absence and the student will not be able to participate in that class on that date.

Absences:

 

  • Absences from regular scheduled Class (es) during recital period: If a student continues to miss classes often (other than illness) the studio reserves the right to first call and give a warning, second- if the student continues to miss – the studio will give the student notice whether or not the student can perform in the recital or not.  It is unfair to the teacher and to the other students to have a student consistently absent.  There will be no refunds or makeups.
